The overall goal of this activity is to improve patient care by presenting common scenarios encountered during treatment of dialysis accesses and using best practice guidelines to optimize access function. Additional, to recognize common potential pitfalls during intervention and avoid these.
The course includes two dialysis cases. Using a branching scenario approach, the course taker is given immediate feedback on potential treatment options and the rationale behind why a treatment choice is correct or incorrect.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) is accredited by the ACCME to provide medical education for physicians.
