Associate International

Non-US physicians who live and practice outside of the US, hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, or equivalent medical degree as determined by the Executive Council and who have completed formal training in an interventional radiology (IR) residency or IR Fellowship or have a special interest and competency in IR are eligible for Associate membership.  International associate physicians are also eligible for to apply as a Member.

Associate applicants are required to provide:

  • Documentation of valid professional license or certification
  • 2 letters of recommendation from SIR members
  • Curriculum Vitae.

Associate (Non-Physician Medical Professional)

Medical professionals working in interventional radiology are eligible for Associate membership.  This includes but is not limited to Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.  This category had formerly been known as the Clinical Associate category.

Associate members who are NPs and PAs are encouraged to join the NP&PA Section.

Associate applicants are required to provide:

  • Documentation of valid professional license or certification
  • 2 letters of recommendation from SIR Members
  • Curriculum Vitae

Associate (Physician Non-IR)

The Associates category will include those physicians, scientists, and non-physician medical professionals who have special interest and competency related to interventional radiology, but do not qualify to be Member or Member in training. 

Physicians who have not completed formal training in an interventional radiology (IR) residency or IR Fellowship are eligible for Associate membership.

Associate applicants are required to provide:

  • Documentation of valid professional license or certification
  • 2 letters of recommendation from SIR Members
  • Curriculum Vitae

Associate (Scientist)

PhD Scientists who have a special interest and competency in interventional radiology research are eligible for Associates or Member categories.
