Membership Listing

Active Member

The Member category includes any US or non-US physician who holds a degree of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, or equivalent medical degree as determined by the Executive Council and who has completed formal training in an interventional radiology (IR) residency or IR Fellowship or has a special interest and competency in IR.  Member shall also include any individual who holds a Doctor of Philosophy and has a special interest and competency in interventional radiology research.
Active member status shall be granted to individuals who meet the above requirements and hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine. Active Member status may be chosen by PhD scientists who meet the above requirements and choose this option in lieu of being an Associate member.

Medical Student Member

For individuals currently enrolled in medical school who have a special interest in interventional radiology.  This category also pertains to individuals who have not yet begun their formal radiologic training as a resident in a radiology residency training program.

Current SIR members are not eligible for this program. This prgram is available only to individuals who reside and practice outside of the United States and Canada.

Associate International

Non-US physicians who live and practice outside of the US, hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, or equivalent medical degree as determined by the Board of Directors and who have completed formal training in an interventional radiology (IR) residency or VIR Fellowship or have a special interest and competency in IR are eligible for Associate membership.  International associate physicians are also eligible for to apply as a Member.

Professionals working in interventional radiology are eligible for Associate membership.  This includes but is not limited to Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and practice administrators.
